The last time I fished the Merced river at the bridge by Merced falls my grandson And I picked up at least 10 worm containers a many, way too.many beef cans! And someone chucked a whole pickup bed from a truck into the river there! I used to fish a really nice pristine area of this river, can't go there anymore because the landowner has posted it all because of the garbage chuckers that were leaving all there Crap on his property! I honestly don't blame him for doing that,I probably would too!

Some benefits apply. Over time I have collected all sorts of tackle, including sinkers, swivels, hooks, a box of hooks, leaders complete with swivel and hook, assorted lures and rubber tackle. I have also found two different real nice small lanterns, a pocket tackle wallet, a small minnow bucket, a small maglight, a super nice bait knife and scabbard, a bank card (that I destroyed) a few bobbers, a pair of regular pliers and a pair of needle nose pliers. And that is only what I can remember...all from the same area.....lolol

Reminds me of pheasant hunters in South Dakota. Land owners used to be fairly open to individuals who wanted to hunt. Over the years it has become increasingly difficult to get into some private lands due to "sportsmen" who feel they have the right to hunt anywhere they please. Gates are left open, garbage strewn in the ditches, fences are cut, birds are field dressed and their remains left by the side of the road, even stock has been shot.
Again, Game Fish and Parks provide some lands but they fare little better.
The term "sportsmen" used to mean something. Now it is anyone carrying a weapon or fishing pole. Sad.
No wonder you can't drive a mile on rural roads without seeing NO HUNTING nailed to multiple fenceposts.

It’s so sad that the majority of the idiots are our young generation they seem to have no consideration for anything and anyone but themselves πŸ˜«πŸ‘Ž in some cases you try to talk to them and all you get is attitude
I think when we took away the right of the parents when we were aloud to discipline them with a good wack and place some sense in them a time out just don’t cut it πŸ˜«πŸ‘Ž oh well we are all going to hell in a hand bag

For sure, something can be said about the attitude of some of our younger generation. However, "some" of those "idiots" are also collecting Social Security checks.

It's disgusting. I clean up every time I go shore fishing. That maybe why I bought a boat. I have hiked to "great" spots in WA, way out in the sticks and have found myself picking up beer cans and garbage. I really hope they stiffen enforcement and stick it to these guys. It is sad that people have so little respect for the land and water.

Its frustrating. Every time I go out, I end up picking up trash, discarded line, and bottles and cans out of the water. Generally people who go fishing once or twice a year, I think. If those of us who appreciate the outdoors didnt pick it up, we would be buried in the crap! Thanks to everyone who helps keep our fisheries clean!
