Welcome aboard Micheal. Tip of the day... fish evening's and dark!. Below Wheeler dam they've been sporadic on cranks but jigs and plastics have done decent.
I'm in the area and the heat has really kicked my butt.

Hi Michael,
I live on Smith Lake but fish several areas of the TN River including Wheeler. Obviously, most of the focus over the past 6 years or so has been on small mouths; however, I have good luck with large mouths fishing neds and carolina rigs off rocks and points. Typical spots like under bridges & docks are always worth exploring. It's a little late into the summer right now, but weed beds are great in the spring with spinner baits, buzz baits, jigs & jerk baits. Green Pumpkin is a great color to try also.
Welcome aboard Michael, and keep us posted in the near future.
Happy Fishing!
Jerry
