Well completed the first leg and arrived safely in Mesquite, Nv. I know I promised some beautiful pics, but driving across the Mojave desert isn’t that goregeous. What to do for 5hrs drive. Traveling music included: The Eagles, James Taylor, Jimmy Buffet, Toby Keith, Barbara Mandrel, Willie & Waylon to mention a few. License plates game: see all 50 states by end of trip. Got 14 today. Gas check: Cal $6.35 Nevada $5.27. New PB, wife made it to 14 min in the fast lane!! Played Black Jack for a half hour and won $250.00. Broke the tip off of one of my poles……bummer. Now for the pics. The Zyzzx sign, one of the most famous in the U.S., over 100,000 people have stopped to take their picture next to it. If you ever get bored look it up, interesting. An unusual name for a hotel: “Terribles” , now closed so guess it didn’t work! Some people feel the desert is a beautiful place, you be the judge. That’s in for today, I promise it will get better. On to Utah tomorrow.

Day 1 done and in the memory pages. Boy that desert looks so un inviting. Sweating just looking at the pic.

The Mojave Desert at its worst is better than the Vegas Strip at its best. So say I.

Secure your things really well as the losers out there are stealing up a storm to buy gas and .......Safe travels. Yes that stretch is really boring all the way to Salt Lake.
