So this is our first family camping trip. We are headed out to June in July. Me and my two young boys and wife have tried to catch in the past with no luck. Does anyone have any tips that might help us.
If you're going to June Lake, CA then Mick H posted a report on July 8 (in the Main section) about a great trip there.
Good luck, and post pics!
Yep, I've seen some bad posts about June, but MickH had some pretty good luck there a week or so ago. Look for his post. I believe he said his son was. using nightcrawlers and he was using "lures". Look for his post and you can PM him too.

Good luck rent a boat the stocking up there has not been good because of the Hatcheries being closed down !!
But I would troll I've always done great at Gull by the play ground or rent a boat on Gull.
Also Grant lake fish early morning and in the evening because when the sun hits the lake on Grant the fish sun down and Silver lake use clear bubble with 3 foot leader line and a dry fly it works great.
Good luck and a safe trip
And if you have never been to Boodie the ghost 👻 town off 395 you should and the .hot springs.

Haven't been to those lakes, (only the lakes and Backcountry above Bishop, and many here on the Western side), but what Andy said works for me, whether boat, kayak, or shore. If the above fails and you just want to kick back, then powerbait.

As others mentioned, I was at June lake last week & we left 'em biting. Rented a boat and went across the lake to a big rock pile. Anchored about 20 -30 yards off shore & threw towards the bank. Son used "baby"nightcrawlers bought at the resort boat rental. Just a couple of split shot above a 2' leader. I had best luck on a black panther Martin with a gold blade.
Steady action all morning, we ended up catching & releasing 19 trout. Started around 8:00 am & were off the water at 11:00. Bring sunscreen, & good luck!

Yes! If you are going through Bishop you must stop and get some fresh baked bread and just across the street is a butcher shop where you will find some of the best beef jerky I have ever had! A lot of choices in beef jerky types and meats.

Yes
Last time I was there it had gotten much larger.
When I lived in San Diego I had a good friend who lived in Ramona. Driving home from his place there was a bakery. In the middle of nowhere - in Santa Ysabel. Dudley's. It's still there. Delicious fresh baked loaves and fruit bars. They're online. You can order from them.
This is all real good stuff guys!!! Love it
