So kandy drives all the way from north jersey to cape may ( 2 1/2 hours) we fish 5 hours and we catch ONE fish! I hang my head in shame. But we’ll get em tomorrow!
Something did snap the line on BOTH kandys rods in less than a minute….i havent been fishing long , but that was something…..first the rod bent over and the spool started screaming as line peeled off…as she was fighting whatever it was…SNAP….gone….30 seconds later…same thing on her other rod.
I believe it was a shark.
Hey! That must have been an adrenaline rush!! Good Luck!!!

Of course you do. Are there any Bluefish in the area? Are you using any steel leaders? Me thinks that's the villain.
Good luck to the 2 of you Tomorrow.

Looking at the reports, it looks like you guys should be fishing in the Bays down there, instead of the Reef.

Problem i have encountered with the bay is the inercoastal waterway is dredged to 15 ft deep or so….but on either side of the channel its one or two feet…i blown into the mud on 2 occasions already…one i hadda call seatow i was stuck so bad…i could anchor , and cast and retrieve…then move and try again, and over and over until i find fish….

“There is no shortage in fish species available in Delaware Bay according to Higbees Bait and Tackle in Fortescue. The bay is alive with flounder, kingfish, weakfish, spot, crabs and even a cobia was caught this week. Anglers are bringing back a hodgepodge of fish for the dinner table. Plus there are a dozen or so shark species out there right now willing to test your tackle (and fortitude).”
Gonna try Delaware bay..small craft advisory for ocean side tomorrow…..plus i saw shark in the report…so…

There's gotta be some water where they're catching all this variety of fish. Maybe a couple hours before and after High Tide. That's where a Trolling Motor with Spotlock comes in handy.

Yeah it's supposed to blow to 30 mph here tomorrow, with a couple severe thunderstorms late in the day.
