Interesting Plasticfan, I wouldn't have ever put the two together. I like the look of the Corvettes but that low to the ground entry and exit doesn't do well with back problems. Pick ups are my go to until i can't justify the need for one any longer. Which i think wont be much longer.

Even though this is a fishing site, someday you might want to post a pic or two of your ride in the chit chat section. You know how it is, we love cars, boats, and fishing. Not necessarily in that order

To answer plumbob's question, here are some of my old cars.

1st pic is a 58 model I bought in early 70's for $750 added factory fuel injection to it and made it 245 HP.

2nd Pic is a 66 model. 427 CI/450 HP. Kept this one for 30 years.

3rd pic is a 03 model at Talladega (racetrack) where I got it to 140 mph. Cute little girls are my grandkids who are now 22 and 24 yo.

Last pic is a 2010 I bought new and drove for about 7 years til my old back told me it was too hard to get in and out.

Missing is my 1988 cause I couldn't find a pic. So that's the hobby I had outside of fishing. If I keep getting older I'll have to give up all of them.

58 is long gone. I became a daddy and it was not good to haul wife and baby. My favorite was the 66 it was a beast with all that power. Gas mileage was nothing to brag about though.

Melmack roadsters is what we called them in the early 60s. The only one I was ever in was a 54 with a high horse power small block Chevy in it back in 1967 he scared the crap out of me the way he drove it. No protection incase of a wreck and no seatbelts.

Yes I was amazed how much the 66 increased in value while I owned it. My brother and I restored it in the 80's and only had about 10k invested. Those cars continue to increase in value. I've seen some bring over 100k recently.

Dang man!! Nice cars. I had a 63 split window just before I started having kids. Bought it in 1973 and sold it in 1977 for twice what I paid for it. It’s was like this one but darker blue and not nearly as nice. It had a couple small cracks in it and the paint was faded pretty bad. Bought it for $1300.00 and sold it when I got out of the army for $2800.00. 🤨🤦‍♂️

Dang! You guys were really into plastic cars. I am a very old dude, and my love for a car had to be the 1934 Black Two Door Ford Coupe! It was made the same year I was born so we had a higher level of relationships.

Its brakes only partially worked, but I learned how to go into a slide, get off the brake just in time to straighten out. It had a rumble seat in back with the back
window that could be rolled down so passengers could talk to each other. It ran like a top of pure 'midnight ethyl' and that saved me a lot of money for fuel.

I have after all these years been asked by high school girlfriends about that
black Ford Coupe, seems they also remember those days. Just Sayin...RJS
