As soon as I launched, I figured I'd hit the 3 main trees on the way out of the creek. Zero, Zip, Nada, not even a nibble from panfish. Heavy gear, light gear, finesse gear, nothing. Very strange indeed. I started hitting my regular spots, and only caught a couple dink Largemouth, and a couple little Perch. Hit the 4th island, and got a 1lb 8oz Smallie on a Swimming Dinger, then nothing. Hit the 3rd island and only found nibblers. Back to the 4th and caught a decent 2lb12oz Largemouth on a Wacky General. Did a half lap of the SE side and tried to sight fish a few Largemouth but couldn't get them to commit.
Hit the 3trees again, 2X, on the way out and popped a 3lb Slime Dart at Bertha's tree. No other signs of life on any of them.
It was cloudy all day, so maybe they didn't need to hide from the sun today. I'll try again on a sunny day.

Thanks JMK. After the first one eliminates the skunk, it's all gravy after that.

Thanks Hack. Yeah they're starting to fatten up, post spawn. You're welcome buddy. Yea I did, he was slinging slime and blood from his lip all over the place. As soon as I took his picture, I reached over the side and popped open the gripper. He splashed me with a tail slap on his way home. LOL.

Thanks Brad, there were tons of 3 or 4 inch yellow perch in every cove today. I don't think I ever caught a big one there. That's probably what the Walleye eat.

And everything else I would imagine including Bertha ! Try something in a perch pattern or fire tiger might do the trick πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŽ£πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘

Thanks Henry. I guess the lack of even missed bites, in normally productive spots made it seem slower. The frustration from the ones I could see, but wouldn't bite, probably added to that.

Good Idea Henry, I've got a couple Yellow Perch Rapalas. I'll have to dig them out.

HaHa, I did Butch, a couple times. I'm convinced that the mostly cloudy skies eliminated the need for shade, under the trees. She could have been roaming around, anywhere in the lake. I'll try again on a warm, sunny day.

Those look nice Fred, bigger than your telling us, but you had the scale. No Bertha, but No Skink either. You’ll find her, when she’s ready.
