Hi, I am going fishing to lake George for the first time, I am planning to catch trout, salmon. I would like to know more about fishing there! What is the best bait and what depth is the best?

I fish Lake George once a year on vacation, but for bass. I know salmon are caught pretty deep. Are you using your own boat?
This time of year in lake George the trout and salmon are in deep deep water you have to down rig for them. Springtime they are feeding up top. Good luck.
Lake George is a wonderful clear fishing lake. I've caught largemouth bass, smallmouth bass and lake trout. It is a very large lake. We usually fish there about once a year. It might be useful to arrange for a guide and a boat unless you know the lake well. Captain Jeff out of Bolton Landing is our go to guide.
We will be renting a large pontoon, can you tell what the bait is the best?
When we fish with the guide we use 3-4 inch senko worms. By myself I use night crawlers. They catch anything that swims. It's a wonderful lake. Have a good time.
Crawfish or minnows if looking for live bait
We're heading to Lake George for a week starting on Saturday. Staying at the Trout House Resort in the Hague. We fish for bass in 25 - 40 feet of water off the Hague, off Odell, in the Narrows and at a couple of spots on the way down to the Narrows. I have a boat with a fish finder and trolling motor. Last year was horrible; caught lots of small bass but none large enough to keep. No fish dinner... Anyone fishing for bass in the North Basin/Narrows and having any luck?
