I’ve also found that the time of day/night makes a big difference, especially during the full moon. Some days the bite would turn on and off , coinciding exactly with the forecasted “major” feeding times. Other days - not at all.🤔. If I’m planning a trip out of town and have an option of dates, I always check the “tables” to see what days are forecast to be the best. It’s not always right, but more so than not…. Like someone else said, “you still gotta find the fish” and I have never used electronics before. However, I just bought a Garmin Striker Cast,
(similar to the I-bobber)
so once I’m able to get out and use it, will see if it helps me find ‘em! 👍

Randy, you are right about my first post and I agree it was a broad statement from me. However, looking back on my log for 5-8-22 the app indicated very low fish activity and my wife and I caught two limits of Redfish and one nice drum. And on 5-31-22 the app indicated very high fish activity and we caught two Redfish which was great because I don’t ever expect to limit out every time I fish. No matter what the app indicates about fish activity, it’s all about timing to me and that’s why I depend more on the tidal movement. Sometimes it’s meant to be and others it’s meant to be a skunk. I love to fish but I also love the outdoor experience too. Thanks for your reply😎👍

I totally agree with your “meant to be” statement. 🥴
There are a multitude of factors that come into play that affect our chances of catching fish. I think the Solunar Tables are just one small factor, and is often no more reliable than the weather forecast! LOL
Over the years, I actually think the wind direction has been the best way to predict how hot the bite will be. Again, just one more factor among many….
I even take advice from Randy Travis:

I have a lunar fishing watch. I fish all the time. Sometimes I check the watch before I fish and sometimes after. I usually catch fish, but find the watch can predict my better and worse days.
Still have to be where the fish are, right bait, presentation and not get bug repellent on the bait.

Does it tell you if you are where the fish are?

Don’t know about real accurate.Im a bass fisherman , and really don’t worry about tides too much. But I do believe a full moon keeps baitfish more active , so, I believe bass stay active longer . I always try to plan a trip to the lake during the week before a full moon , during the full moon or during the week right after the full moon . I’ve done best during those times . And I need all the help I can get.

I find that they are extremely accurate at tellin us the day of the week just like the calendar on the wall.
Other than that they are at least as accurate as the weather man.
So my advice is "Go whenever you can and get on the water as early as you can."
That way you get to enjoy your time on the water longer.

👍

i believe in them and find them quite accurate, but you still need to put yourself on fish as well. i don't just go whenever it's suppose to be great, cause if it was my choice, I'd probably never get off the lake or river. good luck...

Amen. Keep pounding the banks. Catch more or less. The moon gives me an excuse for a slow day.
