Almost 700,000 hatchery trout that were to plant Eastern Sierra waters have been infected with a disease. It's going to be a pretty grim fishing year in that area.

The same thing happened last year. They closed most all the hatcheries that supply the Eastern Sierra to try to fix the problem. The fix must have failed. Last year I made jokes about it saying the fish have COVID and how are we going to hook them if they are wearing masks but two years in a row is not funny.

They are not planting that much do to the fish disease again !! In the Hatcheries!! My buddy and his sons just came back from their. The Towns are do some planting with larger Trout.
They caught most of their fish in the streams around Bishops and the river.
