There was an old clear spring fed double pond my grandfather built back in the depression year's. He stocked it with Bullhead, Large mouth and bluegill. We fished in it since I was a little boy, Grandpa was getting old, recovering from skin cancer surgery, and didn't make the wheat harvest trip up north, so dad and my three brothers came to Oklahoma to take him fishing, he wanted to fish this one, beside the mountains. We caught nothing but Black Bass. They were all 4lbs to 9lbs every one, many time's two bass bit one lure. We caught so many grandpa was worn completely out, I can't do anymore!! The ponds were so overwhelmed with bass nothing had a chance to reach maturity The farmer asked us to thin them out to a healthy number. So we harvested enough to eat. I know some people think it's a sacrilegious thing to keep bass, but they actually improved in quality and the other spices made a comeback. It's usually the catfish that dominate in farm ponds, but anything that fit their mouth they eat.

VERY NICE FISH!! I've told if you a fish gill bleeding to pour Mountain dew, mellow yellow or whatever you have on the bleed and helps it stop. Don't wait for it CPR as usual.
