I'm in California. I'm sure you're gonna get some replies. You should know that it's gonna get real cold soon. And snow. -40 wind chill? It will suck. I'm originally from around South Bend Indiana. S'where I grew up. Had enough damn sense to get the hell out of there.

I'm sure there are a lot of people on here from WI. There could be some fishing salmon in the tributaries leading into Lake Mich. but I would think that's pretty much over with by now. You could catch a brown trout looking for an egg or two floating down. You could catch a walleye or sauger staging at a river's mouth. That is fishing. Do what the locals do.

Rivers are normally productive longer then inland lakes. You can catch anything from bass to northern and even panfish. Fish slower during the cooler months and stick to live bait. The same holds true in early spring.

Milwaukee Dave

Hi Kathy, I'm Dave. I live in Milwaukee and now days do most of my fishing from the shore along the lake and the Milwaukee river. Salmon are running right now, I've got two over 15lb. This is hard to explain because I fish different in all the places I fish. But the one bait that's works well are Spawn sac's. North East were your at, the fishing is ten times better than the shore line of Milwaukee. Any were around Green Bay is world class fishing, from musky, walleye, Pike, small mouth, go online to your local DNR. When you find a place to fish near you, stop at a bait shop and I'm sure they will help you with the information you need
.l hope l was some help,. Good luck

Good advice from Dave. I lived in NE WI all but 8 of my 65 years. Obviously, dress for the weather but inland lakes ( if you have access), are great this time of year. The musky and northern seem to love the overcast, cool, shorter days and both will give you a good battle. Lake Michigan winds and cold, make it tough to fish off shore and enjoy it this time of year based on my 5 years in Racine.
