Most of the bass i catch in this FL sand pit lake are healthy with medium to large girth. However i have recently caught 2 or 3 very thin fish they are 15 to 16 inches long. Any reason for this? Water quality an issue?

Start keeping and eating some, they are starving as fg said.
There are loads of brim and cichlids in the lake and frogs, lizards in the brush.
Evidently not getting ate.
Check their stomach contents. Good bet they are full of plastic baits which they cannot digest shutting down their digestive system and starving them to death.
