Ordered online. Very cheap. The plaque will read “Champion of the day”.
I know extremely cheesy, but I’m all about having fun! Life is short, try to have fun and enjoy it when ever you can!

Laugh a lot, love deep and dance like no one’s watching!🎣😎

Looks nice. Every chance to get out in the Great Outdoors is a Golden Opportunity to enjoy life. You hit the nail on the head about life being short.

I have found that the people that stay active seem to be the healthiest. I know for sure it happens. If ever don’t keep getting outdoors and doing all I can do the more heavy pain sets in then I can’t do much.

Stay safe. I can’t wait to see more pictures.

I made a couple of improvements to my kayak today. The first I wanted to do since I got it last September, there is a “storage” well right between my legs that is useless for storage because it opens into the entire hull, so anything you put in there is gone! I’ve been looking for just the right plastic container to put in the and today I found it.And the lid still closes and latches. Gonna be able to keep my phone, some hooks, weights, rubber worms and other miscellaneous things. The other was to figure a way to stand up in my kayak, not to fish just to get out of it! At 56 the hardest part was getting out of that thing, I was like a turtle on its back it was embarrassing.
So I used one of my dogs leash’s, clipped it to the handle on the bow of the kayak and now I can put one hand down and pull on the leash and stand right up like a gentleman, well a gentleman is a stretch but no more turtle. 🐢!

Good going finding a container to fit you will really make use of it.

My useless hole in the haul came with a liner fortunately. Good place to keep the phone and spare gear. As for the getting up and down i use a rope tied to the bow, doubles as a tie down at the dock too.

What are you using for a anchor?

I have an anchor that I got online.

Had the same one and used it once. Getting them un hooked from logs while the current is fighting the yak is not the easiest task.

Definitely never use a small mushroom either. They sink down into the mud and that 2lbs becomes 20 in a heart beat.

What i use now is a 5lb barbell type weight placed on each side of the yak. Most times one is enough pending water flow, and sometimes it depends how the water flow will position the yak.

Everyone's waters and bottoms are different, always good to hear and see what others are doing.

Get a piece of non-wood plank and cut it to fit across the foot ridges so you have a continuous foot rest. Works great on my Lifetime.

Never thought about the leash, but that's awesome. No more looking like a old man wailing about next to the bank trying to get out lol.

Gary, I see you’re hooked on kayaking. Kayaking is good for you and good for the soul. I’ll turn 75 in a few days and will kayak until I’m unable. I built a cedar strip kayak a few years ago and it’s the one that got me started. I now have a Hurricane Skimmer 14 that I have rigged for fishing. Keep on paddling!!😎👍

The leash is brilliant, I’ve considered a kayak as well but one of the negatives for me would also trying to extract myself from it, I can cross that off as one of the cons, thanks!

Good job Gary. When I had my kayak I had to make some “user friendly” changes and they helped me to enjoy fishing out of it. Tight lines.
