Warm water turning cold again at night , where does the Crappie go ? It's late April 2022 and i can't seem to find spawning crappie this year like the past few years . Any and all serious replies are welcome.

Many times during spring cool spells Crappie will just back of shallower areas to the first drop off. They will usually suspend in the same depth of water as when they were shallow but over deeper water. Lots of times a very lite jig trolled or cast along these first drops to deeper water will find Crappie. Sometimes they'll be suspended in 2 ft of water over 10 to 20 feet of water. Where ever they go a few warm days after a cold snap will find them back in their shallow water spots. Hope this helps but sometimes when they suspend like this the are very hard to find.
Thank you very much sir , I've always had problems finding the Crappie during these cold snaps , I'll be certain to follow your advice, maybe I'll be able to find them on my next outing.
