Thanks Henry, the boat ran great, all systems functioning properly. I didn't get to run it fast because theres an 8mph speed limit till the weekend after Labor day, but the Merc fired right up and ran perfect.

Good catching Fred. Thanks for the pics. 8 MPH, that's an odd choice. We have 10 MPH lakes and lakes with 5 MPH but, never heard 8 before.

We have a couple different ones but the places I go are 8+10. There's several with horsepower limits. The weirdest one is Rogers lake, 135hp limit.anything over that, you have to run on your electrics only. I don't get it. A 16 footer with a 135 will go faster than a 21 footer with a 150. I don't understand what they're trying to accomplish.

That's probably the first unjustified rule I ever heard Henry, and it started when I was about 3yrs old.

Does the town make up the rules I mean does anyone vote on it like at town meetings I know very little about who sets the rules on the water waysπŸ˜’

I believe that they do Henry if they are the controlling body for that waterway. Obviously if the lake is in a state park, its their rules. Corps of Engineers for their waterways, and we have a couple controlled by regional water companies. On the town controlled ones, I presume that they have a lake commission that sets the rules.

Thanks Chuck. Normally around the middle of May into June, but the warm weather, or lack of, determines the actual time. The shallower natural lakes warm up earlier than the river lakes like Lillinonah and Zoar. The water released thru the upstream dams is colder, so it takes longer to warm them up. Throw in this late winter weather we're getting (snow coming Monday night) and that slows it down even more. Hopefully we'll get into a normal pattern soon.

Thanks mr. Fred. Best of luck with the weather...
