Let's say it is different!!
Very strong wild tast so I make a jerky out out of it.

I gather from comments above that wild turkey cooked like you would cook a turkey bought at the store would not be good, would be tough or stringy. Is this true? Please comment. I once ate roasted wild turkey and recall it was ok, but alcohol ingestion might have been a factor.

I gather from comments above that wild turkey cooked like you would cook a store- bought turkey would be tough or stringy. Is this true? I have eaten roasted wild turkey and found it ok, but alcohol consumption may have been a factor in that evaluation.

Nice birds Andy. We have about 300 wild turkeys here at our place with lots of big Toms. You should come get some of em๐Ÿ‘

The young ones are not too bad but every older wild turkey Iโ€™ve eaten was like you say. Rather tough and stringy. Thatโ€™s why we grind em up and make pepperoni with the older ones. Nothing like a store bought turkey.

Yes I did. Thatโ€™s pretty awesome.๐Ÿ‘
Working on Easter. Big jet boat races here this weekend and the elk ranch/meat shop is really busy with all the people here. Cops are especially busy with all the alcohol being consumed.๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

My cousin (a blonde) decided to raise some turkeys, and when she went to the hatchery she told the guy she wanted the ones with the buttons that pop out when theโ€re done
