I know from my grandpa's ponds, he feed them during the Winter months, because there's no natural food to keep them healthy a good Brim population equals healthy Bass and other game fish. As the temperature rises, they'll forage. I've never seen a Brim that wouldn't bite a bight crawler, earth worm and sometimes they'll hit whole corn as it looks like fish eggs. Bug looking jigs will snag them too. Good luck
