I haven’t had 1 oz of alcohol on any of my boats for over 25 years.
Personal choice . Those who do , no problem here. I don’t care what others do.
What I do care about is as follows.
Couple years ago , I’m seeing Budweiser cans floating on my local lake .
I scooped em up in my net and put em in my trash bag . Finally spotted the culprits fishing a bank while I’m off shore.
They finished a beer and tossed the can !
Couple hundred yards ahead of me.
I’d picked up 8 or 10 of these and had em in my bag. Sure enough. Game warden pulls up. I’m like “ oh crap, I got open containers on the boat”
Warden says “ what’s in that bag?”
And I explain I’ve been scooping these up . He says “ I know , been watching you thru binoculars. Mind if I take that bag? I’m gonna go have a talk with the perpetrators. “
Sir yes sir.
He thanked me and went in to do what ever he did to those jerkoffs.
Some people really ruin it for everyone !
My lake is pretty. I don’t want to see some fools beer cans washed up somewhere .
Everyone , please respect our resources.
Leave it cleaner than you find it if possible !!
When im off the lake , I do often partake in adult beverages. You could say , it’s a given .
Bet your butt I don’t throw my empties out in the front yard!!!

Way to go and definitely cudo's from a former drinker, though I didn't toss my empties, crushed em,bagged em and packed em out with me,I don't even toss my cigarette butts,I have a pocket in my tackle bag just for them. Its truly sad that there are idiots out there that just don't care about our natural areas, kinda makes a person want to collect a truck load of garbage and dump it in their front yards and see how they respond,Again two thumbs up for you going the extra mile to help keep your area clean.
Unfortunately Ben,
The only way for some to learn is to pay a hefty fine. I hope the Warden caught them and was able to give them a ticket.
I keep a weighted trash bag on my boat for trash, be it mine or something which was tossed in, blew out of a boat, off a pier or off the shore. The most common things are the light blue covers from live bait containers which were not properly secured or water bottles as they are so lightweight.
The people will always be the problem, whether they are careless, clueless or clumsy.
Every time my wife and I go fishing we net and pick up all sorts of trash. I just don’t understand people who act like the world is there trash can!! Glad the warden got those guys. I would have had a few choice words for them.

All the game wardens I’ve met were extremely professional and courteous.
Doing the right thing (picking up the trash) is always good karma and often really good luck !

I often take my grandson fishing with me. I am teaching him to leave the place better than we find it. That means we always seem to be bringing back other peoples trash.

Used to fish a local pond for trout. When cleaning them would some times find cigarette butts in them. Ever catch any fish with plastic from can six pack wrapped around them? Caught 1 once

That's great Ben and good for the game warden, You can just about bet if they come to your boat they've already seen what you're doing. Seems like I'm always picking something up out of the water or at the ramp. Trash can right by the ramp and people throw it down instead of taking a few steps to the garbage. Pulled the prop off my trolling motor a couple weeks ago and it was loaded with fishing line, hard to figure some people out.

Way to go Ben. Hopefully the Warden fined them heavily. My wife and I while hunting 30 miles into the woods from the nearest paved road. We are always picking up garbage paper coffee and pop cups. Beer , pop, water cans and bottles. It really irritating to see how someone drives down a gravel road and can not put their garbage in a bag in the vehicle they are in but instead just throw it out the window in the beautiful forest. I know just how you feel Ben we do the same thing. Thank you for caring and picking up after others.

dbed.... No surprise there. I live in small suburban town, and together with my neighbors, pick up trash tossed from cars a couple of times weekly. But, it doesn't bother me as much as the trash at my fishing spots somehow. Just the way people are .

I never go out without an empty grocery bag. I never come back with an empty grocery bag. For a real education check out a few magnet fishing videos on YouTube.
