"Smallies" are an introduced and invasive species on the west coast. Catch 'em and eat 'em!

So are Largemouth, both were purposely introduced to California in the 1800s. So why don't you eat them ALL.

Dang it......Got here too late. C'mon Blackdog let's keep looking for Armadillos.......

Me personally, I throw the males back, unless I'm trying to cull the herd.

I don’t fish for smallies or largemouth when they’re spawning. Never said I did. I have caught them while fishing for other game fish. And release them right away, Ace.

They say they can do what they want if it’s legal but from the way they talk I’ll bet they’ve skirted regulations when they could. I’m sure they care more about themselves than being good stewards of the natural resources the Lord gave us. I’m glad they don’t fish where I do like you said .
