Hey everyone I wanted to create a discussion about a lake that I fish frequently. Spent a few days at Logan Martin and it was not very productive I’m guessing the rain and the cold fronts didn’t help. Mid March is usually a good time to go but we didn’t hit it right for spotted bass or crappie. Water temp was about 58 degrees and the water level was below winter pool. I think they are try to spawn but the weather isn’t cooperating. Any other locals out there?

Good mornin', BlueBilly. I'm sorry, even though the membership on this Forum is about 57,000 strong, you could be the only one fishing it, or know where it is. BTW, welcome to the Forum.

I've tangled with the Smith lake spots and they are a blast just never made the trip further south and yes they are tasty...

Hope your luck and the weather changes for you.
BlueBilly, welcome to the forum! My son and I fish Logan Martin. We actually have a house on the lake at the end of Coosa Island! The rain and switch between weather patterns has made it tough...but the fish are out there. Bass have been staying a little deep for this time of year, but try the area around Lakeside Landing (Town and Country)....we have found them on secondary points. The crappie will be on fire in about 2weeks when the water starts coming back up to summer pool...try house boat piers at that time. Tight lines!
BTW....we will be fishing the Airport Marine High school tournament on Logan Martin April 1-2nd, with 225 other boats😂(2 man teams and a captain)...but it is beautiful to see 450 kids with their dads having fun!

Hey B.B. Not a lot of Alabama fisherman’s on this hear site but I go to it every day, I fish The Warrior river not far from you. Main river been 56 to 58 but the sunny slews and pockets have been 62 to 64 Fish a chatter bait around boat houses and logs i’ve got nothing on the main river. All have been large mouth and I’ve caught a bunch of fish and three that went over 4 pounds and that’s good for this river. Good luck and always be safe
I appreciate the info. I’ve got several chatterbaits to try out.
I went out Last Saturday morning we did not have 1 bite.
The guys I was fishing with said they were biting Friday.
Bass. Caught another 3lb-er. and several 6 others Friday. Same warm pockets around boat houses on spinnerbaits and biggest on white 1/2 chatterbait
I’ve never even gotten a bite on a chatter bait or a spinner bait but I’m sure it because I don’t have confidence in them and probably not using them in the right conditions. I guess you gonna have to take me to school lol
