Just a few parting thoughts on the discussion as laid out in the scripture. I know those who do not accept the Bible as the Word of God will not appreciate the truths taught in it but ones denial of the truth does not diminish the veracity of the truth itself. So what does scripture teach

• Those who would say there is no God are fools
Psalm 14:1
the fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds; there is none
who does good.

• They are fools because they deceive themselves into thinking they are wise
Romans 1 18-22
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men,
who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. 19 For what can be known about God is plain to them,
because God has shown it to them. 20 For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine
nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world,[g] in the things that have been
made. So they are without excuse. 21 For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or
give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22
Claiming to be wise, they became fools,

• They are fools because they do not accept that while their bodies will return to dust their spirt will return to God
Genesis 3:19
By the sweat of your face you shall eat bread, till you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken;
for you are dust, and to dust you shall return.”

Ecclesiastes 12:7
7 and the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.

• They are fools because they do not consider their eternal fate after death
Ecclesiastes 7:2
It is better to go to the house of mourning
than to go to the house of feasting,
for this is the end of all mankind,
and the living will lay it to heart.

• They are fools because they do not understand they will give account of their life
Romans 14:11
11 for it is written, “As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me,
and every tongue shall confess[b] to God.” 12 So then each of us will give an account of himself to God.

Philippians 2:10,11
10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11
and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

• Finally, none of us have been redeemed because we were wise or noble but because we were weak and foolish so we have no ground to boast. We are not to condemn the unbeliever but to speak the truth and pray for them

1 Corinthians 1:20,21
20 Where is the one who is wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God
made foolish the wisdom of the world? 21 For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God
through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach] to save those who believe. 26 For
consider your calling, brothers: not many of you were wise according to worldly standards,[c] not many
were powerful, not many were of noble birth. 27 But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the

Jesus IS the truth.

“Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”

He (Jesus) goes on to tell Philip that if you see Him, you have seen the Father (God). If you believe in one, you must believe in the other. Jesus was not JUST a good man, great teacher, or a prophet, as some people think.
FOF even believes that !
Jesus WAS all of that, but He was also God, in the flesh, the son of God. 🙏🏻

past/attitude/language, I probably have confirmed reservations 'downstairs', so when he gets
there I'll be watching and waiting,

It will not be based on what you do or have done. but what He (Jesus) has done and if you have put your trust in him "believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved" so while the decision is yours it is not based on anything you have or can do

there's only two places left I can
go - Purgatory (if you're raised Catholic) which is only temporary,
or 'Upstairs' (after or instead of) ! Either way, it may be awhile before
St. Peter greets me at the 'Pearly Gates' !
