Pretty much just wondering if you can set it up, with the bait and everything beforehand and still take it apart and transport or would that cause the line to tangle?

You could do it but the likelihood of a big mess would be high. Easier to transport then set up

I always do it like that. I just tie it down with some rubber bands... never had issues.
But honestly the 2 minutes needed to set it up at the water are bearable

*if you choose to do this I’d recommend using some painters tape. You can apply and remove it easily to minimize any tangling and issues if you’re in that kind of a rush. Otherwise just setting up on site would be a good idea too. Goo luck out there!

Or twist ties from bread bag or small zip ties just clip or on twist.
I DID AND HAD A REAL MESS. hAD TO CUT AND RE DO.
nOT TO DO THIS AGAIN, Time was wasted!!!
PFC
Do it all the time minus bait.
I always am rigged to go so long as using artificial bate . I put my hook on bottom eye before the break undo the pole and real the slack brings top
Half in than it’s Mobil and will slide up
And down the line than I tuck the tip
In the bail of my spinning or I have a styrofoam road holder from the 90s on the bait caster to hold in place never once in 20 years a tangle or mess .
Bottom line if/when it works for you do it.
