Democrat Point It’s closed to fishing until April 1st,2022. They are dredging the entire bay areas of the beach. Even if you snuck on you can’t fish because of the undertow and currents the dredging is causing.However, if your a surfer with a permit your ok on the ocean side.
Sore Thumb Beach also closed until April 1st.
Don’t bother to fish at the Captree pier
Nothing in the water close to shore.
Let’s hope in 2 weeks when the season starts the fish may come inland for a bite.

Jones inlet needs to be dredged bigtime. The water is 3-4 ft at low tide and the breakers are nasty when the tide starts moving. The inside marshes are flooded at high tides. The plans are to dredge next year. Many guys (including me) won’t navigate the inlet this season. More than likely a boat will be lost again this year trying to navigate that monster.

Flounder should be around if ya got a boat. I used to dive around the jetty (bay side) when they dredged the bay about 30 years ago and the flounder were all over the bottom as the tide first started going out.
