Fishing Galveston Bay over the next few weeks. Any tips on where to fish from a small bass boat?
If you own binoculars, take them with you. Watch for any white flashes, which will tell you there are seagulls diving on shrimp that have been forced to the surface by feeding trout. There are also a lot of oyster reefs in the bay, I would try around those with live shrimp, if you can get them.
Also, ask the folks at the bait stand where they recommend you fish. They are usually up to date with what's happening there. Just Sayin...RJS
Thanks RJS. Thinking of putting in on the dike and fishing goat island and just east of there.
Yes, I've used the Texas City dike for launching. In the middle of summer there are big reds and black drum around some of those production platforms. Just Sayin...RJS
Also out of Anahuac, N end of Trinity Bay, East shoreline down toward the Point
Thanks. Will give that a try as well. Will let you know how it goes.
Last time I fished there was 10 years ago, but I recall good waters, many reefs and you could see the 'scours' where red had fed. Good waters for the big three: reds, trout and flounder. I have wondered how Harvey may have changed the shoreline communities.
