Anyone have tips on locations for a northerner to do some public hog hunting? Have it on the bucket list and not getting any younger.
It's on my bucket list as well. I wish I could be of help to you. The only thing I can say is Texas is the state. I seen many videos and some have advertisements offering such a hunt. I don't have the rifle needed for this hunt either but would like to get one. My 308 is a bolt action
Iβm not trying to be rude, honest question. Whatβs wrong with a 308?

Dakota, Your not being rude at all. From my understanding the 308 is the preferred round for hog hunting. Nothing wrong with it and everything right about it. My 308 is a bolt action I would prefer a AR10 in a 308 with a 25 round magazine. I seen videos on hog hunting in Texas where they have 50 plus hogs and need to shoot fast. I would have trouble keeping up with my 5 round bolt Mauser. I guess I could use my M1 grand 30.06. with 8 rounds.
I think Roy's question was for info on WHERE to hunt public land for hogs not HOW to hunt them. He hasn't been heard from since the original question.
True, but our topics go different direction daily. If I was Roy, Iβd see where this went. Always some good information comes out along the wayππ»
