cheap equipment for a poor fire soul
Hello, my Friend was taking me to a Lake for fishing, and it was the first time i went as an adult. I just enjoyed every moment og it. now i thought i would buy my own equipment but have looked at various sites on the internet but can not find any ideal relationship with my budget as i am not the richest. so I would like to know about some sites where you can get some cheap equipment which also has the quality of being a beginner. or give a realistic estimate of how much a startup package would cost

Rods i would buy in person. Reels, line, where ever u can find them the cheapest, usually ebay or amazon. Lures u can sometimes find at walmart selling for really cheap. All Depends on what ur fishing for. If its bass u could get started with $50 if u really wanted to.

A good budget friendly starter package would be a Pflueger Trion in the 30 size with a Berkley Lightning 7' M. You should be able to get both for ~$75 give or take. Don't worry about higher end equipment. Some of the most proficient fishermen I know don't use anything beyond budget rods and blister pack reels you can find at most brick and mortar places.

Try craigslist or offerup.

I would agree with spray and spirit. The rod you want to feel and flick the wrist a few times to get the right touch. Garage sales and good old Wall mart to get you started. However look into a local bait shop as a comparison and mention what you want to do and have those Wall mart prices on your mind. A bait shop wants your repeat business as much as the big stores do and just may give a pretty good discount.
What part of the country are you shopping from? Maybe others can steer you in a better direction.
I would agree with the garage sales or go to Walmart. The most your going spend on a combo at Walmart is 90$ but on average you can get decent combos for Les than $50. As far as baits and lures go. You should look into mystery tackle box or one of the many monthly subscription boxes. They run anywhere from $20-$50 and send tackle right to your house once a month. You can cancel your subscription anytime. It's a great way to build up your tackle selection and not go to a store and spend $100 dollars or more on lures and plastics.
Redmeansdistortion hit the nail on the head. EXACTLY the combo I recently recommended to a guy who asked for my thoughts while we were chatting over a beer. I have every size of the Pflueger Trion, two of some. I have never had a problem with any and for ~$40..? Stellar.
Rods.... particularly length...lots of choices out there, love Berkely, love Okuma (decent reels, as well).
Sierra trading post online gets some interesting stuff
Flea markets, pawn shops, craigslist. You might be surprised to learn how many people you know that own fishing equipment they will give away.
Welcome Dejo from Alabama Bill
Go to pawn shops in your area, you will perhaps find some reels and rods that you can interchange. No kidding, there are some excellent buys there.
Try Walmart, you can get everything you need for under $75
