Lots of great ideas. Being a saltwater guy who enjoys going after red drum in the marsh on very high tides, I got my brother to weld a simple frame for the front of my 16’ long x 48” wide bottom Alumacraft Jon boat so we could hang flounder gigging lights on it. We don’t gig very well so I took off the lights, leaving the frame so my aging buddies and I have leaning post when we’re in the marsh with our fly rods. So, I launch the boat, tie it up to the dock, go park my car/trailer and use the frame on the front of the boat to grab as I swing myself into the boat. In addition, I use it to climb up on the deck when it’s my turn to cast as well as using it to get back onto the dock at the ramp when it’s time to leave. With an artificial knee and hip (not on the same side), I have some mobility issues but this feature makes boating possible.

Please PM me with whatever your looking to sell. I’m a gear addict and your close enough to me. Have family in PA and I’m heading there in the spring to meet some stagers. You are invited.

Hi J, I have several Shimano Curado reels in assorted sizes (50, 100, 200 and 300) at least 2 of each. Rods both baitcasting and spinning. I was a lure fanatic so I have all kinds of plugs, spinner bait box full of same in asst sizes. Loads of plastic worms, a Plano box loaded with frog baits. Jigs in asst sizes and colors.
I’m sorry this isn’t more organized or detailed but I just came home from a long weekend on the NJ shore and just found your note. If your looking for something specific let me know. Email me at tzablocki45@icloud.com

Like Jeremy I use a long rope but I tie it to the anchor post on my trailer and otherwise unhook the boat straps down to the trailer. The length of the rope is long enough so that the boat will go quite a ways behind the trailer as I float free. What I do after that is just back into the water slowly enough that the boat will once it floats and just keep floating out away from the trailer.. Then I pull ahead a little bit and get out and let the boat into the shore or if there is a dock walk out on the dock and pull it into the dock with that lead rope. Then I can tie it securely to the dock bow and stern go back out and untie the lead rope Park the trailer and return to the boat if it’s on the dock. usually the bow can be pulled up on the bank far enough to use a step ladder to get up on the bow and climb in. tand if it’s next to the dock I can just carefully step in. Just reverse the procedure when I’m loading the boat back onto the trailer just pull it onto the trailer and hook up the winch and crank it up the rest of the way. Never get wet don’t fall in the boat.

Hi J,
I sent a reply the other day but not sure you received it as this is the first time using this part of the forum.
Send me an email with a list of what you may be interested in. I have St. Croix rods, some older Fenwick fiberglass rods, Shimano Curado reels, Shimano spinning reels, Plano tackle boxes contains swimbaits, crankbaits, spinnerbaits, jigs, top water and plastic trailers.
I must say all rods and reels are in first class condition. Some baits have never been used.
Thank you for your patience and inquiry,
Tom

I'm 73, legs not doing as well as they used to. I've been very active and athletic all my life. Just moved to Springfield, Mo., and wanting to buy a Tracker Panfish or a Tracker Pro V 16, which I plan to mostly use by myself.
Question: How do you all launch/ retrieve/ get in and out of your boat? Any tricks or assists out there? I plan to install steps on the trailer tongue.
Thanks, Joe

Saw this on Amazon yesterday.

I'm near retirement. I bought a Pelican Bass Raider 10e at the end of the year last year. It can be unloaded from a pickup bed or launched via a small trailer. If you are not a speed demon then at least look at it at a Bass Pro Shop or Acadamy Sports. I'll drop a pick of mine so you can see that it does have 2 seats and carries 600 pounds. But these are getting hard to find. Everybody wants one.
