What was the best boat you've ever owned? Mine was a 20 foot home made wooden boat my grand dad built when he was young. That boat hauled a ton of gear and would handle the roughest water ever. Had a 25 horse Johnson that never had a hiccup and would fish 4 guys easy. Sure miss that old boat.

Mine was a 16' ex. wide flat bottom, with a 25 hp. Johnson. I ran out of gas with it on Lake Mich. That was scary.

Had a lot of fun in jonboats growing up, but pretty happy with my current Smokercraft 168 Pro Mag. Nothing fancy, but functional.

I've only ever owned 2 boats...one was a cartoppable sized 12' aluminum Smokercraft and I only used it for a couple of years. The other one is going on 20 years old for me and I still have it...a 19' Campion that has taken me to places I would have a hard time reaching in my kayak. I have to give my first kayak an honorable mention though, because during the past 40 years it has served me well...and continues to do so.

A couple of friends getting ready to go trolling for lake trout. We caught our limit in a few hours that day! Unbelievable action! All on planer board set ups in shallow water during Springtime.

This kayak has been to many places throughout North America with me, from the four corners of the USA, to numerous interior States as well as Canada. My wife has always enjoyed this one, and is pictured here on a day paddle near Drummond Island, MI.

Fishyaker you know i am partial to the wife's ride. I had 1 Sea Pro and a 1970 Crisscraft and they were enough up keep to warrant not wanting another motor driven boat. But they were fun when running well, i will give you that.

I’ve had 7 and my current is the ABSOLUTE LAST, but my favorite was a 32’ Luhrs w/ twin Chrysler V-drives.

I know how much you enjoy kayaking! I think it get's in your blood once you get started! Now and then I tell my wife that I'd like to sell the orange/tan one...and her reply is "no way", "that is a very special kayak...you are not getting rid of it!" She has kept me from making a bad decision on more than one occasion!

Probably my '73 28' Luhrs. Single 318/240hp with a V-Drive. Spent every weekend and all vacation days, from Easter to Thanksgiving, for 16yrs on her. So nice waking up, pre dawn, just off of Long Island Sound. Walk out of the Cabin, rig up the rods for the day, and head out. The last 9 years I owned her, I also had my 18' Trihull and the 14'Tin boat docked there as well. I could let the wife sleep in, and jump in one of the smaller boats and head out. After I came back, we'd take the big one out. I really miss those days.

I had tons of fun fishing and skiing with my first boat - a ‘67 Sea Sprite with a 60hp Johnson, but my favorite fishing boat has been my Bass Hawg two-man with a 52lb trolling motor. It’s cheap to operate and gets me where the fish are. Even with the Flex-
Seal patches!! Lol

Worst I ever had was a glass tri hull.. it compared to launching a concrete slab with a motor.. Had a couple of Larsons that were good to me, still have an Aquasport 21 Express Fisherman, and Starweld 20DC Pro. Gotta say the Starweld has been a great boat.

I have a 17' Crestliner CX with 50hp merc easy to get in and out of the water. Had a problem with it last couple of years would not idle. Come into the dock about 25 yards away it would stall out every time. Broke down took it to the mechanic after doing a couple things and nothing worked. he said take it out on the lake and run it hard. By fall it running like a champ. I guess poken around the lake is not good for it. I forgot $400 later
