Slot of line me twist is doe to static or memory try reel magic or tangle free. Also spray silicone lube helps. When I fish weightless trick worms And I start getting line twist I take the worm and hook off and I strip about ten yards off and cast it like a buggy wip four or five times this generally removes the line twist. Spray reel magic on the line and eyes of the rod that s will let you cast ten or more times without the eyes freezing up.

I don’t know what kind of line you use to get the line twist but I have never had a problem with line twist and never have I used a swivel on any other device tie line to spinner directly.

Always have to chuckle when I hear someone say "snap swivels" are a "visual turn-off" to fish, especially when the subject is SPINNER LURES.... hehehe.
Are you simply not seeing the fact that a snap swivel is just MORE SHINY HARDWARE, on a lure that IS 2"-4" of shiny hardware, & the SnSw is usually much, much smaller than the SHINY HOOKS DANGLING ? How ludicrous.

ALL hardware, from nails and screws, hinges, brackets, drawer guides, etc. in the building trades to precision bearings, gears, line guides, ferrules, crank handles, hooks, split rings, SNAP SWIVELS, etc. in the fishing world.....is widely available in wildly different qualities.
And cheap hardware WILL FAIL....houses fall into disrepair, fish come "unbuttoned".

Quit buying the cheap "Danielson" and "Eagle Claw" crap, and buy PLine or other QUALITY snap swivels..... have never had one fail..... even on BIG FISH, Jeremy. They make a variety of sizes/test weights....pick wisely and CORRECTLY, please.

And as for the suggestion to use vegetable oil, rather than saliva, to cinch down a clinch knot ?
The practice of using saliva is to mitigate the friction/friction heat generated in that ONE INSTANCE OF CINCH, not to make the line "slippery enough" so that it becomes "easier" for you.... though I suppose you could try to kill two birds with one stone by using WD-40....cinch-slide-helper/scent attraction..... hehehe...... still not anything I can recommend doing.

Or......if you refuse to use a swivel with a spinner..... do prepare us a wonderfully engaging treatise on "How to Deal with Line Twist"..... enthrall us, please.
Always have to chuckle when I hear someone say &qu... (show quote)

Good swivels really do have their place using spinners. I have never lost a fish due to a swivel coming apart; can't say the same about a good knot though!!!

There are Swivels and then there are Swivels. I have used Swivels and Snap Swivels since I was a kid in the early 1940's. However they are not the catchall for everything. When I troll a Wiggle wort (Flatfish type of lure) for Steelhead and Salmon in the river, I read their instructions on connecting your line. They were adamant to not use a Snap swivel because it would affect the motion of the lure. What they advised was using a UNI knot which was like a tight slip knot. They said do NOT cinch it down on the eye of the lure, rather than, leave it with a small loop and not tight clinching on the lure eye. They said after playing a fish, the knot may have cinched down on the eye, but all you had to do is slide that knot open again and get fishing. With spinners in a stream if I am going to be changing the spinners often to different sizes or colors I use a small Snap Swivel, if not just use a UNI or in old days clinch or improved Clinch if using mono. If using Super Braid then UNI. For big fish like Sturgeon, I use a heavier Swivel and one that has a clip wire that has a bend on the end to keep it from pulling out. my .02
