Welcome to the Forum, jamesandkym, So, are you fishing freshwater or saltwater?
Freshwater. Hoping for bass but crappie are good as well. Thank you for the reply.
Welcome to East Texas. I suppose you know that even East Texas is bigger than a lot of other states. I would recommend Toledo Bend as a good place if you are close to that body of water. It has both bass and catfish and lots of water to explore if you have a boat. Just Sayin...RJS
Thank you. What about Martin Creek?
Martin Creek
FAIR. 50-55 degrees. Water lightly stained; 1.91 feet low. Bass are fair lipless crankbaits and Texas rigs 5-10 feet of water in creek channels. Report by Jeremy Baker, Jeremy Baker Fishing.
I copied this from the Texas Game and Fish Comm. February report. You can access this with Google, or Bing. Just Sayin...RJS
Thank you Sir. Much appreciated!

Thank you for replying. We have a boat and prefer artificial bait. I am particular to creature baits and LOVE fishing Lilly pads with frogs. It is very different than the Rocky Mountain brookies. When we first arrived we went fishing and I got a black crappie. It was very fun but since havenβt fished for crappie much. Thatβs been 4.5 years. Husband caught a snakehead 2 years ago and that was really fun but scary looking! Almost worse than a Pike.
