All you squeamish folks that will not ear tilapia, I hope this makes you feel better. Crabs, lobster, shrimp, and mud bugs eat anything that goes into the water, if it has been eaten before or not. They also eat anything dead, including human carcasses. Bon Apatite. Just an FYI: Jacques Cousteau said he would never eat a crab. My concern with store bought seafood is what happens to it after it leaves the water until it reaches my plate.

I think I’ll hold off for the mediocre middle of the line quality fish category. Maybe the best way I like to fry chicken.😂

What type and where do you fish for it or purchase it. Species and cooking methods if you feel like elaborating on what you consider quality fish or seafood?

Boy you started it Jeremy, I like a number of them. I’ve seen a lot of answers and I agree with a bunch. I like Smallies and bottom fish for sure, right along with Salmon. SmallMouth usually just fried with a little salt& pepper. Salmon I like a DryRub on and smoked in my PittBoss! The bottom fish get Either Fried or Smoked on the grill with a couple different rubs or a Pesto sauce my Wife likes. Crappie, if I’m fortunate enough to catch a mess, again just a simple oil fried salt & pepper mess works for me.

I been hoping everyone was the last.

Now today a sub variant BA.2 was found. It very hard to detect. Here we go again. Endemic has got to be here very soon or beginning.

I think they're running low in variants. I see the bird flu is back. Reaching for straws.

Ok guess I’ll chime in here. For fish hands down salmon my favorite especially if
fresh caught or at least wild caught. Halibut and mahi-mahi are up there too. Scallops and crab for shellfish. I have not had lobster too much, went to Main once and was surprised how overpriced considering all the availability there. Guess I was in too touristy of an area. For freshwater, perch,
panfish, walleye at the top of my list. Have not had bass in long time.
More recently when on the Oregon coast last fall we bought some black cod (sable fish) fresh right off the docks. Wife made this awesome recipe marinated in miso, sake and mirin. Then sear in very hot pan and it kinda carmelized and blackened on the outside. Such a buttery taste from the fatty fish. Delicious!

As long as fresh, all seafood and fresh water fish is good....

That's what I would say. For me, the quality of the fish is how fresh it is. Which type of fish is personal opinion.

On the Alabama gulf coast mullet are plentiful, easy to catch and really good. They have to be eaten fresh.

I have a deal with my neighbor; I catch in the cast net from my pier and he cleans and fries the same afternoon on his pier. Throw in hush puppies, fries, a neighbor or two and cold beer and it doesn’t get any better than that!

Wow! Too many to list them all. If i had to pick. My top 3 fish would be fresh salmon, snook amd walleye. Shellfish would be softshell blue crab, oysters and scallops . Well have to include Maine lobster. Worth every penny. Get tjr larger sizes like 3lbs or so for the best flavor. Mix the "geen stuf" with melted butter and dip the lobster meat in it
Good stuff!

Up in the PNW we love our halibut, walleye, shrimp and salmon. Salmon is best plank bake before an open fire or smoked. Shrimp is great in a scampi or cold with cocktail sauce. Halibuts and Walleye are best batter fried. But there are other ways t fx everything. Every other fish or sea food is good with some just not worth cooking less your starving. But not much I won’t eat especially from the sea.

That kinda sums it up.
