There is an expert that moved out of your area. He knows a lot of people in that area and should be able to help you.

I’m guessing you’ll figure out that’s not a good place to be and will be gone soon. The fishing is good but the regulations suck. Not much opportunity to fish there if your plan is to use bait or keep anything. Mostly all catch and release and tight seasons. Come on over to Idaho if you want fishing opportunities. Year round options and I just bought my fishing license today. $23.00 for everything for the year and that includes a hunting license and a two pole permit that you can use anywhere. Even on the rivers salmon and steelhead fishing. You won’t see that in Oregon. Good luck. Where did you move there from? Lots of good people there but not many options for fishing or hunting.

Seek more information. There is opportunities there. I Notice it wasn’t about licensing costs.

Fall River near End is b all reports a great place to fly fish for very nice trout. But it’s extremely clear and fish are fussy. Nymph good is a good technique. Nearby is the Metolius out of Sisters which is another great fly fishing river. Same for the Deschutes which not only carry’s big trout but steelhead and salmon. Of course you can run n up to the Columbia for several salmon seasons and steelhead along with some wild action on shad and sturgeon. There are other streams and lakes with great fishing. As a resident you will enjoy some great fishing at modest cost. If your a meat fisherman, you’ll have to check for lakes that ODFW stocks for catch and keep, but they are there. billy Clapp is a large reservoir in the Metolius drainage that also holds big fish. Beautiful country and a favorite destination. I envy you.

I assume you meant Billy Chinook not Billy Clap. I’ve fished there many times and it’s a beautiful area. Perfect place for the, catch and release, fisherman when season are open👍. Don’t forget to contact the Warm Springs Tribe for a special permit to fish the Metolius arm of the reservoir. That’s the north end of the reservoir.

Many years ago one of my best buddies shot a deer with Trail90 as a rifle rest down towards Billy Chinook out of Madras.

He had Ranch Property and now his sons are my neighbor. Worked with him and were buddies for a very long time.

I lived in Bend in the late 70’s, early 80’s. I realize the area has changed dramatically but if you like to hike, there are numerous mountain lakes that offer excellent trout fishing. If you can get out right after the snows melt, the remote lakes are full of hungry trout and breathtaking scenery.

Haven't been there in many years, but East Lake and Paulina Lake used to produce excellent trout fishing and not far from Bend. Certainly worth checking them out.

Yes of course Billy Chinook. My bad. I don’t live there, just visit whenever I can. There are also a number of lak s along the Scenic Cascades Highway like Lava Lake that hav a god reputation as well.
