Going to visit in May/June, any good fishing nearby?
Lots of good fishing in Ohio. Not my part of the state. Ben Bragg is decently close. I’ve only been there to party with friends back in my college days. (Miami of Ohio). If you want to travel from there I’d hook up and take you fishing. But you’d have to come a couple hours north. Huasten State Park is close by.
Will be there 2/3 weeks while my Granddaughter graduates HS and goes onto Miami, OH. Should have time for her(my fishing buddy) and I to come up that way, will keep in touch.Thanks.

Acton Lake is close by in Hueston woods State Park.
10 hp lake , so I don’t fish it often , but when I do , I usually do really well on Crappie. Good ones.
May is spawn and the fish are predictable , they will be ganged up in spawning areas. Small tube baits or twist tail grubs is the ticket, or minnows under a float.
If a cold front hits, they will move to the first deeper cover or structural element adjacent to the spawning areas. So start moving deeper till you find em.
You can probe these deeper fish with a dropshot and live minnow.
The deeper water is also good for post spawn in June.
Look for clusters of boats. The locals know where they are.
After heavy rain the lake looks like chocolate milk. If it looks like this , go find a bar somewhere , cause they shut down completely in mud.
Good luck.
Thanks for the good info.
So J in Cleveland, got here to Hueston Woods for the last 2 weeks and between Wife, Daughter, and Grandaughter I didn't have time to get up there to go fishing with you. Don't think weather was all that cooperative anyway. Here at lake have had 2 days where I had time to try it we had a tornado warning one day and thunder showers the next, so water has been muddy and was advised to go to bar when that happens. Thanks for the offer.
Wanted to let you know that with the weather, muddy waters, and time constraints was unable to use your information on lake. Still have a few days, so might get chance, but waiting for current storm to hit. Again thanks for info, have drop baits and other items you mentioned so will keep to try next time in Ohio.
Yes, Houston. Woods State Park, huge lake there. Also Seven Mile and 4 Mile creeks are nearby as well as the Great Miami River.
Nearby in Germantown visit the dam and the spill way.
