Anyone know if a good charity where you can donate fishing and outdoors equipment to like a kids organization or wounded vets ?
I’ve got a small stockpile of rigs I’ve put together from equipment I’ve retired. Most of it well maintained, just dated.
I could probably outfit 6 or 8 starter tackle boxes just from the stuff I have in cold storage and on my work bench.
I’d sell it off , but If a disabled vet or some kid who’s been dealt a bad hand could have it and call it his own and enjoy it…
Well that would be worth more than the few bucks I could get out of it.
Might even become someone’s favorite special lucky rod.
I think we’ve all had one of those. I’ve had several and most I didn’t buy outright when I was younger.
If you guys and gals know of a legit charitable organization , I’d go for it.
Let me know

There’s the Big Brothers people.
Hi Ben, what a wonderful idea and kind gesture, around my County quite a few High Schools have Fishing Clubs, maybe contact your local H.S.'s or as someone mentioned D.A.V. of America, or local Y.M.C.A. or Boys Club, man that's cool what whatever you end up doing ! Good on you !
Thats really thoughtful of you Ben .I’m sure some one will be happy to be able to maybe start out with some free gear. I barely remember receiving some books from i think maybe a veteran . Books of the likes of buzz Sawyer . And the time just starting out with hockey. And someone with a French name maybe Marchand gave me equipment I needed. I always remember the kindness of some people I hardly new or didn’t know .good luck Ben
Ben: If you are able to access Wright- Patt the Airmans' Attic is worth considering. I leave just about everything there at JB MDL here in NJ. Great idea someone came up with after I retired from the AF.
