I quit fishing for Stripers a number of years ago. All the fish that I landed had parasites and when I asked if any one was aware of it I got just negative answers or told to just cook the fish thoroughly.
So, I guess Im asking again, have anyone out there catching stripers that not have the parasites? And what do you do about them?

Haven't noticed any in the ones that we've been catchin out of the Napa or Petaluma rivers. However, the ones we keep are usually 4 1/2 pounds or smaller. 20 to 24 inches usually. Their fillets are as clean as you can get. They're beautiful.

yea I live in auburn ca. so the sac river was closest for me to get striper and salmon. but over the last 5 years or so the water is slowing warming up its barley getting to the 52 degrees to get them to move. so i have decided to take a little more drive time and get to the colder better water in rio vista. more fish and better quality
