The crappie in south west Georgia are in ten to fifteen feet of water on jigs and on minnows. If we get warm weather and water in late January or February they will go to the shallows to bed as well as jackfish and catfish. This will happen in protected areas in in less than four feet of water. Look for them to move up to the five to ten foot depth first. Bass on Seminole will move up on the full and new moons in February and March. Into April on on main lake sand bars look at areas sheltered from north to north west wends with surface temperature of 65°+.

Is there any green vegetation in the area? There may be some fresh food drawing them there.

I’d have to be bundled up like that kid on Christmas Story to go fishing on a day like today.

10 F. Didn’t catch the wind chill but it was down there.
