To skin a cat get a board longer than the cat, place the cat on the board and drive a nail thru the head into the board. Next cut the skin behind the gills and a slit along both sides of the dorsal fin. Last use a pair of pliers and pull the skin off. If the cat is still alive before placing on the board cut thru the gills and let it bleed out.

I like the fact of cleaning a fish of that caliber, when I was taking fish similar in size, (just not quite that big but close) I would cut the skin from the meat as I do all my cats because you get only meat no fat and it makes a big difference in taste, it's much better that way.

Hey George, nice catch. And like you, I raised my boy and girl by myself. Taught them both to fish at a young age. And they still do. I hope you teach yours the value of enjoying life with a fishing rod in their hands. Congrats on the great catch.

The fry is on...wow that's a lot of meat from one fish...never tried cooking catfish on the grill, wonder how that would turn out?

Grilled with a pinch of wood like for salmon might not be bad.

Can't see it ever competing with fried.
