My local store carries power pro so that's what I've been using. But I want to ask, what is your favorite braid line? Not which strength but which brand? What is your first choice, second choice, and last choice. Meaning, a brand you would stay away from. Thank you for your comments.

Seegundo Loc: Lake s minole Georgia

I use several different lines for different applications. I ve used power pro and it does fine . I seem to prefer the braid by Fitzgerald as it is black in color and works with flipping. As for Flurocarbon I prefer Sunline. In monofilament I use To XT but I fish a lot of Grass lakes like Seminole. Good fishing and keep a tight line. Remember never go cheap on line it's the connection between you and the fish

I’ve studied this topic for a number of years , following is what I have learned
1 Seaguar smack down
2 Suffix 832
3 power pro

Hitena a makes a fantastic braid but it’s major drawbacks are , it is incredibly expensive and it is so thin it is difficult for me to tie effectively.

Fire line and spider wire really are disappointing to me.
Nanofil seemed like a good line until I started having shock break offs during hook sets.

Power pro for cost. Then suffix 832 going to try beyond braid this season. Spider wire n fire line as said junk.

bapabear Loc: Blaine, Washington

#1 832 to 40 lb. and power pro over 40 lb.
#2 power pro over 40 lb. and 832 under 40 lb.
#3 everything else

Justification: power pro is reasonably priced and holds up well to client abuse in salt water. 832 has a great lime green color and is a line that has not fuzzed out for me so far. It cast well, ties well and is easy to see. So far, it has not failed me in any way, though I have only used it for one year.

Gary Northrop Loc: Richland WA

I've used both Power Pro and 832 for many years and prefer 832; however, Power Pro is
plenty good enough and hasn't let me down. I prefer 832 over other leaded lines I've tried.

Rippentide Loc: mid-NC

PowerPro Maxcuatro is a big step up from regular PowerPro in my opinion. It’s thinner and casts farther, while retaining enough body to resist backlashes and wind knots, a problem I’ve found with a couple of the soft high carrier braids I’ve tried. Seaguar Smackdown is another quality braid and should be on your short list of top braids.

Been using diawa 8x j-braid a couple seasons now. Extremely impressive!!!

Tried spider wire and never again.

Whatever braid you go with use a 8x braid, smoother & longer casts.
