G Loomis- purchased several in the past. Had to learn how to repair rod eyes because so many came loose.

You'd think at that price point they could do better than that... !

Gotta agree with that. Will discuss at length sometime, but it will have to be started in the attic.

I won't buy Googan Squad for example. What brand do you stear away from?

My problem is with Nestle trying to buy up all the water in the world then charge us a lot of money. If you look them up, they own 67 different named water brands. People were boycotting Poland Spring so they said they sold it but now is owned by a consolidation of companies which they own the most of. Sneaky. And their spokesperson was quoted as saying "human beings don't deserve water"
Perrier, San Pellegrino, Deer Park. Ice Water, Resource. Ozarka, Arrowhead, Zephyrhills are a few

Be careful buying anything. Alot of things that was made in USA in now made in foreign countries or owned by them. If you see USA make sure it doesn't say assembled in USA or you'll be buy a foreign product by proxy. 👍

Exactly.

I believe in spending as wisely as possible with one thing in mind or maybe 2. Fish don't read advertisements and 2, remember all it takes is bait ,hook and line and you at the end to pull it in. I don't need to be a professional. I fish for fun and don't need to spend Hundreds of dollars to do it.

Never did like Stren line. I like Power Pro. Trilene Big Game line is on all my catfish equipment. Yum & Zoom are my favorite bass plastics & Bobby Garland gets my crappie & panfish business. Mustard & Gamagatsu make mighty fine hooks. Yes, I have bought up a good supply just in case. I don't want to be caught needing terminal tackle just in case it goes the way of ammunition. My favorite lure is always one I have found. Tight lines.

No Nike, NFL, NBA, MLB, or any others of their ilk.

I agree. I quit MLB way back when they went on strike. I quit the NBA and the NFL when I thought about people who go to work for a living were paying high prices for tickets, parking, food, and driving to the cities to watch a field full of millionaires play a game. Not for me !!!!

I like my St Croix fish pole; says Made in USA right on it. I hope they still are. My fishing line is Power Pro; made in Grand Junction, Colorado. I retired from that shop. Shimano reels are made in Japan.

I've picked up a few mighty fine pre owned rods lately that were USA made but now come from China. These rods are from Falcon, All Star, abu garcia & a couple other makers. These rods were actually "splined" which is a step most companies no longer go through because it adds a small amount of labor time to the finished product. I'm old school anyway so the rods fit my style fine. I love my old round Shimano Calcutta baitcasters. I have a few old round Quantum Iron reels made in Japan & not only do they cast great the're bulletproof. One of my favorite using reels is an abu garcia ambassador 2500C. I've replaced the bearings but those reels are near 50 years old & preform wonderful.
