Not lures, but line. Back in the late '80s, DuPont was caught dumping toxic waste in the Atlantic ocean, off of NY+NJ, I believe. The drums were corroding, and the chemicals were seeping out. Lobsters caught offshore had holes burnt through their shells and claws. I decided then to never buy a Stren product, (owned by DuPont). To this day I never have. I thought the hypocrisy was ridiculous, You SELL fishing products, but you dump your crap in the ocean !?!?!

Anything by YETI.....

REAL MEN don't need a Louboutin/Gucci equivalent to brag about or show off with.
My buddy and I did a side-by-side test of "ice longevity", on a 3-day fishing trip. His Yeti ($250+) vs. my Walmart "Ozark Trail" ($34.99)..... additional ice was needed for each, on the third morning.... so much for the Yeti-touted "better performance".

Same with overpriced sunglasses....far too many "brands" to list, that meet the $100-$300 price point that denotes the "too cool to care what they cost" crowd.
Polarized $14.99 ones perform the task adamantly.
(Yes, I have owned (via gifts) both Oakleys and Maui Jim's.....no real advantage, imo.)

And I purchase ALL of my Columbia, Reddington, etc. fishing shirts (retail...$50-$80+ !) from Goodwill, usually for ~$8-$12.....at last count about 16-18. I think I have most of the colors I could ever want/need......and then some.....lol.

I have a definite price limit on everything. I don't buy into the hype. Those super coolers are fine if you like them. Just not for me. I don't need bragging rights. Lures like mega bass n live target aren't for me. More money doesn't always been better than. Lol at the reviews first

Orvis. Stuff for the “well dressed” fly fisherman going to Montana. Save your money: dye your T-shirts dark green and throw away all that day-glo crap.

Hey , Kaepernick has a lot more in common with us than you may realize.
He watches football on TV too!
He probably has a lot more free time on his hands now that he demonstrated to the pro football immunity and the world in general that he’s a cancerous piece of crap.

I won't buy Googan Squad for example. What brand do you stear away from?

Lures: Norman. I can’t get them to stay tuned. Line : Berkley , Stren ( good call on Mr. Fred’s part, but I don’t like it anyway) Clothing for fishing : Nike, for obvious political reasons . ...Lead fishing weights from any maker ......

In my opinion, the product quality any company that has been purchased by Pure Fishing will be immediately reduced by approximately 50%. Based on my experience, the previous "Brand Names" purchased by Pure that are now made in China simply are not the same quality as when they were made in the USA, Europe or Japan. Ditto on warranty coverage. Got tired of returning them due to quality issues identified on new in box reels. Wont even consider them now.
