Never had a problem with the wind. Check out amazing ribs.com to get instructions on using your smoker

If it’s coming FROM the south wouldn’t that be a hiccup? 🤔

I’ve found if mine is catching wind of any degree the temperature is hard to maintain very well.

I use a Treager expensive but I have had mine in use for more that 10 years and still works great so overall cost not bad I have had other brands that might last only one year

I also have a traeger and been very pleased with it. Had it for 8 years and use it about twice a week. I been purchasing pit boss pellets from Lowes, $15 for 40lb bag.

Those Masterbuilt smokers work pretty well. Here is a cheap alternative https://www.amazon.com/MAZE-N-Pellet-Tube-Smoker-Design/dp/B00CS6YFIC these work on any covered BBQ. You can hot or cold smoke and they are exceptional for cold smoking cheese. I carry one whenever we travel trout fishing because you can brine and smoke trout just about anywhere you go.

I find propane more reliable, less problems. Power outage is some thing to consider.

Yes,those of us that live in the PNW have to consider power outages on a frequent basis. I think we are the generator capital of the nation…😜🤣😂🐟

Yep, a couple years ago I got a 22kw generator and it is plumbed into my Natural gas line so no more trying to sleep in my Easy chair because I don't have power for my CPAP and Oxygen concentrator machines. Same for running anything else in the house.

I have one that is similar and it works very well. I got it at Walmart and it does have a digital temp control.

I had the propane model and loved it. Was able to do 6 12lb turkeys at one time. Lots of ribs and brisket.
