I will be fishing in estes park Colorado next week. My question is how much snow does it take for them to shut down the roads going in to RMNT Right now it is predicting 3 to 4", is that enough for them to close down the main road through the park or does it take more?

RMNP is open year round, 3-4" is hardly a dusting for up there. You'll be fine, don't waste your time with glacier creek, fish the upper Big T in Moraine Park.

I'll second this. That's a nice stretch of water.

They don't close RMNP. They close trail ridge road for the winter, but that won't be very consequential to you.

sorry should have been more specific, that is actually what I was inquiring. How much snow does it take for the to close that road. I read it was weather dependent and they are calling for 3-4 "

That's pretty much the gist of it. It just depends. If they're calling for 3-4" in Estes then there'll probably be more than that up at trail ridge, so you might be looking at a closure. I think there's a number you can call and they'll give you updated conditions. Try looking for that on the national park website.
For reference, my wife and I were in Grand Lake in mid September 2 years ago. There was a cold snap the night before we were supposed to leave and they closed trail ridge the next day due to icy conditions. It didn't even snow that day.
