Kingfish54 Loc: Mena Arkansas

Mike from Texas. Just moved to Mena Arkansas. Looking for a lake to catch mostly crappie and catfish. Like catching all other fish as well just I know nothing about these lakes close to Mena Arkansas. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Mike: You are in a state with a lot of diversified species of fish. So I recommend keeping your stories about what all you caught, or did in Texas. In short, let them talk, brag on their catches, and make some friends of those fishemen. Just Sayin...RJS

Welcome to FS Kf. The best advice I can give you is to get signed up on the AGFC app so you get their weekly newsletter and fishing report. I receive the newsletter each Wednesday and the fishing report comes in each Thursday. You can go to the section of Arkansas that you are near ( west of Hot Springs the way it appears) and find out what is biting in the lakes around you and read what baits and lures are catching fish for that week. The info is provided by local guides and resort owners so they are pretty accurate as this does help their business. Good luck and you may want to hit Lake Ouachita as I have been told that it is a really neat lake with the freshwater jellyfish in it. Check it out and remember we love those pics.
