All things being equal, will braided line give me the farthest cast distance?

I don't have a boat so I'm trying to get as far out from the bank as I can, will braided line give me the best chance?

Not equal but I use a 8.5 ft. steelhead rod with braid for shore. It has a learning curve but I love the results.

The lighter line is thinner so can cast further

If you use the same weight line as the mono it will cast further because it will be much smaller diameter.

Yes, will cast further but can lose a little distance with time as the line gets fuzzy. Also, remember the low pound test braid is bad for wind knots.

I have used Spider Line for most of my fishing from trout to Salmon. It adds many yards to your cast. Its cross section is smaller and its much lighter. Love it. Hard to follow once its cast due to it blending in. Add about 3-4' of mono leader and youre good.

Braid casts farther. You don’t have memory coils like mono has. Less friction going through guides. Choose a braid with smooth feel to it.
