Had an Uncle that often told me he threw the encyclopedias away, any time he wanted to know something my Aunt had all of the answers.

He should have kept the receipt, some of those encyclopedias were expensive. He could have used the money for something else like -- alcohol -- in case he needed an escape from your aunt.
