Looking for some advice. I grew up fishing a local river all the time. We used mostly live bait on small hooks to target everything but sometimes we would target cat fish at night with chicken liver. Anyway I just moved and am getting back into fishing. It’s been brutal for me. I’ve been out for 20-30 hours total down here and all I’ve caught is a little blue gill. I’m just not getting bites at all. I’ve talked some locals and yesterday I went to a place that’s supposed to have good crappie fishing and tried targeting them and still got nothing.
Have any of you guys ever got consistently skunked? How did you fix it? I feel like I’m starting to forget what a bite feels like! Any advice would help! Thanks

YES! Kept trying and kept changing things until I found the secret.

Where are you living now
I guess you didn't notice, but post was made by the Stage as a conversation piece to encourage discussion, not a real person. So, no location will be forthcoming.
The off the shelf answer would seem to be to spy on the locals and do what they do. I fish for trout here In WA in lakes and rivers. If I move to Florida and try to fish the same way I’m likely gonna get skunked.
