Hey Y'all, I'm relatively new to saltwater fishing and am heading to the Southwest coast of Florida for the winter. I have been fishing at Sharky's Pier in Venice and Anger Fishing Pier in Englewood for about the past 3 winters. Both have been productive and I have caught an interesting array of fish, I'm a catch and release guy. I'm looking to expand my knowledge and get into some beach fishing. I'm wondering if there are any members in the Venice, Englewood, Placida area who would like to share their knowledge of the area and maybe get together for some fishing. If you're interested let me know.

Wife and I are kayak fishers in Rotonda west. We have good luck in gasperilla sound near boca grande. Also venture out at matlacha, Estero and Bonita springs.

I run out of little Gasparilla pass and run out off shore most times we have room for one more

I fish from the Venice beach jetty and I have a kayak that I use on the intercostal. I’ve tried Sharkies pier a few times but I still prefer the jetty over the pier.

Try some Surf/Beach Fishing in the same beach at Venice pier, just further yourself out from the pier for about 1/2 to 1 mile. Also you might want to try further down south at Naples Pier also a good area.
