The Pyramid in question is actually northern Nevada near California border. I was born in So Cal and have fished and skied Pyramid you are referring.

Craig, my fishing partners and I troll when fishing Pyramid, other people jig. We use downriggers and start out at the same depth and with the same lure (no bait allowed at Pyramid and hooks are to be barbless). You probably want to change out lures every half hour or so. Depth will vary. Last outing we were catching fish at 40 to 45 feet, but that was last week. We have had days when spoons are the answer, other days kwikfish, and last Wednesday cut plugs were the answer. Also, look at the Reno Fly Fishing web site. The site will give reports on the Truckee River and Pyramid, but mostly about fly fishing. One last note, Pyramid is a big, deep lake. Wind can be very tricky and dangerous. Good luck.
