Take them home. Love eating them!
I only fish for crappie and keep all I catch, up to the limit (which is seldom), and eat them or pass on to family and friends.

I do BOTH. If I'm with someone that doesn't keep fish, I usually don't keep any either. However, I have SO many people that enjoy fresh fish to eat I never have trouble givin any and all fish I keep away. I do keep enough to give away and some for Sue and me when I want to though.

Both. I don’t catch and release intentionally but I don’t land everything I hook. Usually stop fishing when I have a meal or two in the live well or on the stringer.

Sometimes, I usually keep what I can eat that day. When I catch bream in greater quantities I fillet and freeze.

Release unless legal and likely to die from a deep hookset
I don't cook so it all goes back into the ocean ...some times as bait.
During my many years of hunting for musky, I've seen a few pochers with stringers full of undersized muskies.
One time I got in an arguement with a dumb ass jerk when I asked him why he kept illegal sized muskies.
I'll quote his answer, " I have to eat don't I".....
I got so pissed that I couldn't even talk!
I got off the lake, went to a game warden in a local town and reported the dunce!
The game warden told me he kicked the jerk off the lake the day before.....
I told him to go back and arrest him.....I don't know if he ever did!

therein lies the dilemma, there are those among us (actually many) who are just trying to feed their families. Can they purchase a license? probably not depending on which state. are they violating the law? again depending which state probably. do the "enforcers" have any leeway? of course they do, a blind eye and a helping hand to an individual who has very limited resources is helping their fellow mankind. It becomes one of those "ethical" questions. we used to have "enforcers" that were very comfortable with making a decision that had little or no impact on the outcome. Today we have a generation of F.....ts that execute the "rules" without consideration of what may be an extenuating circumstance. we have apparently lost the interactive culture we grew up with in the 50's. Do I miss it? of course, and at my age if you want to mess with me....you just made one of the worst decisions of your life.ask the two "enforcers" I got fired.

In the direction this country is going, I wouldn't be surprised to see a lot more people doing the same thing. We are all 3 meals away from anarchy. It's sad.
i always catch and release, but i do keep trout.
I like to catch and release but I think it's everyone's right to catch a legal limit of legal fish. I am fortunate but have in my youth caught a lot of legal limits for my family to eat. It's unfortunate that some people don't understand that the dollars you spend fishing need to turn into fish to eat! NO shame in that and people need to get over it. Nothing wrong with catching legal fish and legal limits. Nothing at all!
Great answer! so many variables.

95% catch and release, unless planning a fry
